According to television station WMUR ABC 9, a trucker notice a fire in the former Grand View Lodge on Route 3 in Carroll at about 11:30 p.m.
The first fire crews on the scene encountered flames shooting from the hotel and restaurant which had been closed for at least 10 years.
A water main break in the area as firefighter battled the blaze hamper efforts to extinguish the fire, the station reported.
The structure has been deemed a total loss and the Twin Mountain fire chief has called the fire, which likely started on the second floor, suspicious.
The New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s office was called in to help determine the cause of the fire, WMUR reported.
