Blind Man Escapes Deadly Cicero, NY, House Fire

A man and woman died in the Cicero house fire but a 24-year-old blind man was able to escape.

Cicero, N.Y. - Two people died Saturday night in a house fire in Cicero, police said.

An 81-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman died in the fire, Cicero Police Chief Steve Rotunno told  Sunday.

Rotunno said a third person in the home, a 24-year-old blind man, got out of the house safely

Around 6:45 p.m., the Cicero Fire Department responded to the fire at 8073 Crockett Drive.

Three people were inside the home when first responders arrived, according to Onondaga County 911 dispatch reports. They were reportedly trapped, dispatchers said.

Two firefighters were injured while fighting the fire, according to dispatch records.
