GA Firefighter Helps Deliver Granddaughter in Fire Station

A special delivery at an Austell fire station resulted in a cry, tears and smiles.

When the pregnant woman walked into the station recently saying birth was imminent, Firefighter Bret Langston was ready, 11 Alive reported. 

During his 28-year career, he's been on similar calls as tiny patients make their debut. 

This one was different, a lot different. 

The expectant mother seeking help wasn't a stranger. It was his daughter, Hannah. 

She was on her way to a birthing center when she knew she wasn't going to make it. So, she stopped at her dad's station down the street.

About 10 minutes later, Adalynn entered the world -- in a bunkroom -- with assistance from granddad. a doula and grandma. 

"She's beautiful, she's perfect."

Hannah's mother, April, said of her daughter having a baby in a firehouse: '"I joke with people, she was a surprise baby, she had a surprise birth, everything about her is just, surprise."

 Austell Capt. Mitch Parrott said it was perfect. "We are more than just coworkers, we spend one-third of our lives together. We are like family here."

Adalynn returned to the station recently to visit. And it won't be her last.
