A former helicopter nurse and EMS director has been charged with stealing drugs earmarked for patients.
Jessica Perriman is accused of taking morphine and fentanyl from Survival Flight and Burns Flat EMS District, KFOR reported.
Nurses at the helicopter base who noticed vials of medication had been tampered with called authorities.
After learning that Perriman also worked as the director of Burns Flat EMS, investigators went to that office where they reportedly found 26 vials with signs of tampering.
When investigators had one of her colleagues call her to get the code to unlock the safe, Perriman allegedly said: “I’m going to jail,” before hanging up, the station reported.
Both agencies have fired her.
Investigators learned that a pilot turned down a mission after he couldn't wake her up.
