Two firefighters accused of interfering with EMS crews at a crash scene are facing criminal charges.
Ameripro Ambulance Service personnel were preparing to fly a trauma patient when two Bexley volunteer firefighters interfered, WLOX reported.
Mark Wilson, 67, and Kathleen Wilson, 60, were charged with obstruction of emergency assistance. Kathleen also was charged with drunkenness in a public place, while Mark was cited for driving under the influence.
“While this did take place last night, we do not condone this type of actions or behaviors from our volunteers. The proper disciplinary action will take place to terminate these firefighters from the fire service," EMA Director Eric Howard told reporters.
