Residents ran to help after a small plane crashed into the roof of a home in Nashua.

James Fogarty told WBZ he ran over the wreckage to check on the pilot, the only soul aboard the Velocity V-Twin.

"I ran over, and I looked inside, and I see him moving slowly, but I'm asking if he was OK and I saw his eyes roll and I see that he had a gash on his head. I turned around to look at someone and when I turned back around, he had pulled the buckle himself...he flipped over on his own slowly and I pulled him out."

Fogarty said he was concerned as he could smell fuel.

A nurse also ran to help the injured pilot, who had just taken off from a nearby airport.

No one on the ground was hurt.
