Escalator Malfunction in Broadway Theater Leaves 11 Kids Hurt

FDNY EMS crews transported the people after a shoelace caused the malfunction.

An escalator malfunction -- blamed on a shoelace -- at the Gershwin Theatre left 11 children injured Wednesday ngiht.

The sudden jolt threw people forward, CBS News reported.

FDNY EMS crews treated and transported the children and an adult to  hospitals for treatment.

They were at the theater to see 'Wicked.'

The show went on despite the incident.
