A patient in an ambulance headed to a hospital for a mental evaluation escaped and jumped in a lake.
The result -- an unusual standoff in Lake Quinsigamond -- as the man swam and stood in waist-deep water.
Eventually, the patient was reunited with responders, WCVB reported, adding that the hospital he was being transported to is just east of the lake.
