The City of Horseshoe Bay recently purchased two new 2017 Ferrara Custom Pumpers designated as Engine 11 and Engine 12. The identical engines are built on Ferrara Cinder cabs and chassis and have Cummins 450-hp ISL engines and Allison 3000EVS transmissions. To fight fire, they have Hale 1,250-2000 gpm Q-Max pumps, 750-gallon Pro-Poly tanks and 20-gallon foam cells with FoamPro 1600 foam systems. Members of the Horseshoe Bay Fire Department's truck committee invested many hours and experiential knowledge o design the apparatus and select every feature. A wet down and ceremonial push in celebration was held soon after the apparatus arrived. The two engines being replaced wet down the new engines with deck guns. An open house followed the event with refreshments. The department and the community are very proud of their new engines,
