Ga. Firefighters Battle Recycling Plant Blaze

A Dalton, Ga., firefighter was taken to Hamilton Medical Center this morning for heat exhaustion treatment after he and other firefighters put out a blaze at Columbia Recycling on Chattanooga Avenue. The firefighter is in good condition, according to Dalton Police Department spokesman Bruce Frazier, and there were no other injuries. The fire, which began at about 7 a.m., partially was contained by the building's sprinkler system, Frazier wrote in an email. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
