Five New York City firefighters suffered minor injuries battling Thursday's three-alarm fire in the Bronx that took crews about three hours to contain.

Five FDNY firefighters were injured during a three-alarm blaze at a recycling plant in the Bronx early Thursday.

Crews responded at about 12:30 a.m. to the fire at Parallel Processing in the borough's Mott Haven area, WABC-TV reports. As the blaze quickly escalated to a third alarm, solar panels on the facility's roof created challenges for firefighters as they tried to vent the fire, which took around three hours to contain.

None of the plant's workers were hurt in the blaze, but firefighters suffered a variety of minor injuries during the response. Four of the five injured firefighters were treated at local hospitals, and all of them are expected to recover, according to WABC.
