Maryland Construction Worker Dies in Crane Collapse

Rescue crews attempted to get the worker safely to the ground and discovered that he was unresponsive.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. --

Officials say a construction worker has died in a crane collapse in Annapolis.

The incident happened at about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday on Riva Road near Route 50. The worker was stuck about 200 feet in the air in the center of a crane that partially snapped.

Rescue crews attempted to get the worker safely to the ground and discovered that he was unresponsive. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
