GLASSPORT, Pa. --

A fire destroyed one home and heavily damaged another in Glassport this morning.

Flames engulfed a vacant house on Maryland Avenue around 3:30 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, the fire had already spread to a second home.

Firefighters said some items were found inside the second structure, but that house is also believed to be vacant.

Crews had the scene under control by 5 a.m.

The home in which the fire originated is considered a total loss, firefighters said.

No one was injured.

The fire marshal is investigating.
