Hershey firefighters battled wind-whipped fire in Derry Township.
"The wind from the embers coming from this massive fire was blowing down through. And of course, that's always a concern. We want to watch the embers on top of rooftops or anything like that," Hershey Fire PIO David Sassaman told WGAL.
The embers created 21 spot fires in the neighborhood but they were quickly contained, and there was no damage to other homes.
The cause of the 6,000-square foot home remains under investigation. The loss was set at $1.7 million.
