Moundsville police arrested Thursday another volunteer firefighter in connection with the recent arson fires in the city, police said.

Daniel Holmes, 21, was arrested on a charge of arson, police said. Holmes already posted bond, according to police.

Holmes was a lieutenant with the Moundsville Volunteer Fire Department. He is the third person charged in connection with about 12 Dumpster fires in the city that occurred over the last month and a half, police said.

Earlier this week, police arrested another volunteer firefighter for several counts of arson, and they charged a juvenile in the crimes, police said.

Police said they have a recording linking Holmes to one of the fires, and they are continuing to investigate.

"Mr. Holmes had called in on, I believe it was July 5 and informed our dispatcher that he set the Dumpster fire," James Kudlak, Moundsville police chief, said.
