Police in Green Bay are now saying a house fire was intentionally set to cover up the murder of a woman Saturday.
Firefighters found the body of Michell Schmidt, 30, in her Habitat for Humanity home.
The medical examiner said from her injuries, it looked as though Schmidt was killed.
A neighbor who helped the woman's three children escape said the kids were shaken because they saw their mother's body before leaving the home.
"They're still afraid," said neighbor Nicole Skenandor. "It's awful for a little boy to see his mother like that."
Investigators have a suspect in custody.
After the fire police were called to a rollover crash on a nearby interstate ramp.
A 29-year-old Appleton man in the car was taken into custody as the homicide suspect.
