The Iowa Professional Fire Fighters Association said too many fires are started by cigarettes.

Iowa firefighters want state lawmakers to consider a fire-safe cigarette law.

The Iowa Professional Fire Fighters Association said too many fires are started by cigarettes.

A fire-safe cigarette has a what's called a speed bump in the band, so if it is left unattended it will extinguish on its own.

Both the Iowa House and Senate will have to study the bills on the fire-safe cigarette.
