FRANKLIN, N.H. --
Three people are dead, including two young girls, after a fire in Franklin early Sunday morning.
Fire officials said flames broke out at carriage house at 69 Cheney Drive around 5 a.m.
Beth MacDonald, and her two daughters, 8 and 11-years-old, were killed in the fire.
Fire crews said MacDonald and her husband, George, allowed their daughters to sleep in the connecting carriage house as a treat for Easter.
Investigators say they woke up to the smell of smoke. George MacDonald called 911 while Beth ran into the carriage house.
One neighbor said he woke up to screams and said the fast-moving flames trapped the girls and their mother inside.
Firefighters responded in just three minutes, but officials said the fire burned so quickly that the victims couldn't get out.
"I still can't believe it," said neighbor Raz Chaudhery," that someone was in there. I still can't believe it."
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire, but said it is not suspicious.
