What follows, rambles and is very rough, but I write this on his computer, in his office filled with all his work of years.

We all appreciate everything Firehouse.com is doing on this site, especially the articles, but just as much the individual condolence/memory letters.

I want to thank every one who wrote about my Dad, especially the staff, and Wayne Powell and Harry Carter and all of the kind wishes are so appreciated by my Mother and this clan.

We were all raised on a quote included in Thomas Anthony's note;

I'm sure we'll write something more polished for posting soon, but for now I'll ask you to post this as an interim thank you from the whole immediate family to our whole national family,

I drew trusses and metal deck roof fires for the first two editions of BCFS. I did it sitting at a comfy desk with cookies and coffee. But it wasn't till I did some promotional materials for the second edition that I realized the impact of my Father's work was having. There were the stacks of letters on how they'd not gone in, or how they had just pulled out when the whole structure collapsed before their eyes.
