BETHESDA, Md. --
A 20-year-old woman is in critical condition after a blaze in a high-rise apartment building late Friday.
Investigators said the two-alarm fire started on the 12th floor of the Promenade building in the 5200 block of Pooks Hill Road in Bethesda. At least 15 apartments were damaged in the blaze and hundreds of residents were evacuated.
A firefighter suffered minor injuries fighting the flames, investigators said. The woman who was critically injured suffered burns and smoke inhalation, they said.
Investigators were still trying to determine the cause of the blaze Saturday.
