Cleveland Union President Says Equipment Is Falling Apart

Sept. 8, 2006

The Cleveland Firefighter Union says its equipment is simply falling apart, leading to a potentially unsafe situation.

NewsChannel5 reported the Firefighters Union President Bob Fisher said Cleveland fire trucks are in desperate need of proper maintenance.

In the past several weeks, Fisher said fire trucks have failed to work properly at two working house fires.

WEWS spoke with the Cleveland Safety Director Martin Flask and he said the situation does not directly affect fire department response times. He also said the repairs will be made.
