Pond Drained in Search Of Missing Florida Firefighter

The woman's truck and turnout gear was found in the pond.

Crews are still draining a Palm Bay lake where a missing Malabar firefighter's truck and gear were found. Brandy Hall was last seen Thursday night.

The pond detectives are focusing on is along Treeland Boulevard. Investigators are especially concerned because Hall's husband, a former Osceola County fire chief, was sentenced last week for his role in a major drug operation.

With every drop of water that gets pumped out of the lake the mystery of what happened to firefighter Brandy Hall gets deeper.

If you ever met Brandy you wanted to be sitting right beside her, because she was the nicest, funniest, warmest person you know, said Julie Harrison, a friend.

Harrison has been close friends with Brandy since they were both teens. When they spoke last, Brandy told her she was excited to get her life back on track.

"Things kinda got disrupted on here. She was looking forward to finally getting things started out and moving on with her life," added Harrison.

Friday, Brandy's husband, Jeff Hall, was in court being sentenced for his part in a major marijuana growing operation. Brandy was supposed to be there, but she never showed up. Instead, her truck and firefighting gear were found that same night in a pond.

"There's a lot of pieces here, a lot of questions that we still don't have answers to, said Yvonne Martinez of the Palm Bay Police Department. A lot pieces that don't fit."

Police will spend all night draining half the pond and if no clues are found they will drain the other half Tuesday. If there's still nothing, police and volunteers will search the woods around the pond. Julie Harrison will be right along with them, searching for one of her best friends.

"We all miss her and want her to come home," she said.

Brandy's friends insist she did not know about the marijuana growing operation and she remained very supportive of her husband.
