The Montgomery County blaze remains under investigation.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue crews battled a three-alarm fire Monday afternoon in Wheaton.

Three firefighters were injured in the blaze.

Units were called to the garden-style apartments just before 1:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Georgian Wood Place after someone reported a fire in an attic.

When crews arrived, smoke was coming from the eaves. A short time later the fire spread through the roof.

One firefighter was injured by falling debris. Two others were overcome by heat. None of the injuries are considered serious.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
