GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -- A Delta Airlines 767 en route from Italy to Atlanta made an emergency landing Thursday at Piedmont Triad International Airport after a warning light indicated a possible fire in the plane's cargo hold, authorities said.

Delta Flight 75, which took off from Milan, Italy, and was headed to Atlanta, was diverted to the Greensboro airport after the warning light signaled a possible fire in a forward cargo hold, said Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen.

``We are still trying to get a passenger count,'' said Bergen, who said there were no injuries.

``Everybody's fine,'' she said, speaking by telephone from the FAA offices in Atlanta. ``No one was hurt.''

Pilots radioed that the warning light went on, signaling a possible fire in the cargo hold. The crew turned on a fire suppression system and the warning light went out, Bergen said.

``They landed safely at 2:45 p.m. and they are taxiing to the ramp,'' she said, adding that it had not been determined yet if there was a fire in the cargo hold or if the light malfunctioned.

Due to limited U.S. Customs services at the airport, she said, passengers were being kept on the plane until a decision was made if they needed to be placed on another flight.
