(New York -WABC, February 1, 2005 ) -- Brooklyn straphangers, already feeling the effects of the fire that has disabled the A and C lines, suffered further woes Tuesday when a smoke condition in a subway station caused some lunch-hour problems on the D train.
The transit authority tells Eyewitness News that smoke from a fire affected subway traffic on the D line at 9th Ave and 39th Street in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn.

Smoke forced the temporary re-routing of D service to the N line between 36th and 86th streets. The fire was under control in 20 minutes and its cause is under investigation.
Metro Traffic's John Delgiorno says fire on the subway system is not all that uncommon, but after what happened the other week with the "A" and "C" lines, they're bound to raise eyebrows.
