COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (AP) -- A small fire was set in the judge's chambers of the General District Court building Wednesday, said Deputy Fire Marshal J.E. Boisseau.

The fire caused about $1,500 damage and has been ruled an arson, Boisseau said.

Firefighters responding to a call about 6 a.m. contained the fire to the chambers. No one was injured, and Boisseau said there was little damage.

Proceedings were suspended Wednesday, but court will convene Thursday.

``We do not know how or why this was done,'' Boisseau said. Police do not have any suspects.
