Members of the Main Street Church of Christ in Carthage are still dealing with the loss of their building after a fire last week.
Sunday, they held their first service since the fire.
"We're doing much better," said Terri Loftis, "It hurts and it's tough, but this is the church... these people here today. It's a great loss, but it's just a building."
Church members talked about memories inside the building.
"I baptized my two girls here," said Gig Siemens.
They also prayed for fire chief Ed Stallings.
Stallings is still in critical condition at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
He was injured when a roof collapsed and fell on top of him while he was inside fighting the fire. Hazel Hackett hopes he makes it through okay, "He's a good guy. We've all been praying for him."
Members held their service inside a bank across the street.
Fire investigators still aren't sure the exact cause of the fire but they do say it was accidental.
