Massive Overnight Fire Destroys Passaic, New Jersey Building

(Passaic-WABC, March 29, 2004) -- In New Jersey, a massive overnight fire destroyed a building already under demolition.

Crews have been taking down the old chemical plant on Jefferson Street in Passaic. But the fire went to a general alarm.

It burned through the roof and brought down part of the building.

There were no injuries reported. Firefighters are still monitoring the air for any release of dangerous chemicals.
