Flames Leap from Jersey City, NJ, Buildings; Six Firefighters Hurt

The cause of the fire that was visible for miles in the night sky is under investigation.

Six firefighters were hurt battling a three-story building fire in Jersey City.

The fire quickly spread to other structures, NBCNewYork reported. 

The firefighters' injuries ranged from heat exhaustion to smoke inhalation.

During the operation, part of the building collapsed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. iNeighbors reported that vagrants sometimes stay in the building.
