A late-night blaze at a Queens building led firefighters to uncover the body of a man who had been dead for almost two weeks, cops and fire officials said.

George Marie, 74, was found dead inside his third-floor apartment at 46-01 67th St. in the Woodhaven section as firefighters were putting down the flames that erupted just before 10:30 p.m.

"The firefighters knocked on the door next to the apartment that was on fire and the guy didn't answer," said a first-floor neighbor who asked not to be identified. "They knocked the door down and saw the guy on the floor."

No one in the five-story brick building was injured in the fire, which was brought under control at 11:10 p.m.
