Two New York State Firefighters Crash Responding To Call

Southside firefighter James Loymeyer and Owego firefighter Eric Johnson were both responding to the call when their pick-up trucks collided.

The crash occurred here at the intersection of Van Hook Road and Waits Road in the Town of Owego.

Southside Firefighter Frank Okrasinksi says, "Blocked the entire road. So it made it a little bit difficult. The vehicles had to re-route around the accident to get to the scene."

Loymeyer was airlifted to Robert Packer Memorial Hospital in Sayre. He's listed in critical condition, but the fire chief says it's not life-threatening.

Johnson, also at Packer Hospital, is listed in fair condition.
