A chief officer with the Elsmere, New York Fire Company passed away Saturday after returning from an emergency response.

Kevin Shea, 54, reportedly returned from an incident and collapsed in his vehicle in front of the firehouse. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Local news agencies reported that Shea had been a firefighter for 30 years, and leaves behind a wife and daughter.

Memorial/Funeral Information

Visitation Hours:
The visitation hours will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Hours will be from 4 pm to 8pm. St. Thomas is located at 35 Adams Place, Delmar, NY 12054. Adams Place is directly off of Kenwood Avenue, south of the intersection of Delaware Ave.

Funeral Services:
The funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2004 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. The funeral will be held in the late morning, time to be determined. St. Thomas is located at 35 Adams Place, Delmar, NY 12054. Adams Place is directly off of Kenwood Avenue, south of the intersection of Delaware Ave.

Procession:
Immediately after the funeral services, we will proceed in full dress uniform to the Elsmere Fire Company where Chief Shea
