Wyoming Firefighter To Enter Plea

A firetruck driver charged with vehicular homicide in the death of a teenage volunteer firefighter is scheduled to enter a plea at an arraignment on Thursday, June 26, in Weston County Court.

Ron J. Caillier, 47, of Newcastle remains in Weston County Jail, according to court officials. Bond was set at $20,000.

Caillier, a 25-year veteran of the fire department, was arrested after the tanker truck he was driving to a fire rolled May 22, killing 16-year-old volunteer firefighter Anndee Huber of Newcastle.

Caillier is accused of being legally drunk and is charged with aggravated homicide by vehicle, punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

He had been convicted last year of drunken driving and had been suspended from the Newcastle Volunteer Fire Department for a departmental alcohol violation.
