A 17-year-old Brooklyn boy was arrested on arson charges early yesterday, one day after he and another teenager allegedly sparked a flash fire in a Park Slope brownstone apartment while creating smoke bombs, police said.
Hansaral Maharawal also faces charges of reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
The fire broke out at the 1st Street apartment around 3 p.m. on Sunday and initially sparked concerns of a terrorist attack.
Maharawal was taken to New York Methodist Hospital, where he was treated for second-degree burns to the upper torso. The second teen, whose name was not released, has not been arrested.
