Little Caillou's fire chief has been sued over a 2010 collision that occurred while he was responding to a call.
The lawsuit claims that Fire Chief Marty Thibodeaux -- who was driving a department-owned Ford SUV -- rear-ended a boat trailer pulled by a pickup truck driven by William Turner on La. 56, according to The Daily Comet.
The wreck allegedly caused the woman's truck to spin out of the southbound lane and come to rest facing northbound on the center line.
The suit claims that one of the four passengers in the pickup -- Kevin Picou -- "suffered serious, painful, permanent and disabling injuries" to his neck and knee.
Thibodeaux was responding to a wreck in Cocodrie and was not ticketed, though he was found responsible for the wreck.
The SUV's emergency lights were on and the chief was driving at a slow rate of speed due to fog and rain.
Thibodeaux told the newspaper that the crash was minor and that the airbags didn't deploy in his SUV.
State Police said at the time of the wreck that there were no injuries.
The lawsuit names Thibodeaux, Little Caillou Volunteer Fire District and its insurance company.
