Responding Md. Fire Officer, Civilian Injured in Crash

The Prince George's County fire officer was en route to the fire when he collided with a civilian's vehicle.

A Prince George's County fire officer was involved in a collision Wednesday night while responding to a house fire.

The fire officer was en route to the fire when he collided with a civilian's vehicle around 8 p.m. at Cipriano Road and Brae Brooke Drive, according to a department press release.

The female civilian suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.

The fire officer also was transported to a hospital to be evaluated.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
