Two N.J. Firefighters, Woman They Rescued Injured in Four-Alarmer

Two North Hudson firefighters climbed a ladder to a third-story window to rescue a trapped woman.

Two firefighters and a woman they rescued were hospitalized following a four-alarm blaze in North Bergen Wednesday afternoon.

Crews responded to the fire shortly before 1 p.m. on the second floor of a three-story building at 7404 Broadway, according to The Jersey Journal.

The structure houses a business on the first floor and apartments above.

The fire eventually spread to neighboring buildings and clouds of black smoke could be seen more than a mile away.

All three were treated for smoke inhalation following the rescue.

The fire was under control by 3:30 p.m. and the roof of the building collapsed.
