The city of Pittsburgh will pay an Allentown resident $9,800 to settle a lawsuit she filed following a collision with a fire truck in September 2010.

City council gave the settlement final approval Tuesday.

According to the suit filed in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court, Linda Winston was traveling east on East Warrington Avenue when the westbound fire truck, driven by Michael Garrubba, crossed the center line and struck her car.

Ms. Winston said she sustained multiple injuries and incurred numerous vehicle-related expenses.

An arbitrator awarded her $25,000, court records showed, but the city appealed the arbitrator's award. The parties later reached the settlement.
