California Civilian, Firefighter Burned in Fire

April 03--Two people suffered minor burns in an Oak View fire Tuesday, authorities said.

The fire was reported shortly before noon in the 500 block of Riverside Road, fire officials said.

Firefighters quickly knocked down the blaze, which was burning in outbuildings and a garage, said Steve Swindle, a spokesman for the Ventura County Fire Department.

A civilian and a firefighter had minor burns, Swindle said. The civilian declined to be taken to a hospital, and the firefighter was taken to a medical facility for evaluation.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
