FDNY Crews Find Man Ablaze in Park

They responded for a small brush fire, and found the man on fire.

May 12--QUEENS, N.Y.-- Police are looking into the mysterious death of a man whose burning body was discovered early Saturday morning by firefighters responding to a call about a small brush fire in Forest Park.

The FDNY arrived at the scene around 5:54 and quickly put out the flames; that's when they stumbled on the corpse in a garbage heap about 150 feet off the road.

Investigators are trying to determine if the unidentified victim was set on fire deliberately, or if he was already dead when he was torched.

An autopsy is being done to determine the exact cause of death.
