Oct. 02--A Renovo man who was serving as president of the Fireman's Ambulance Service Team in Clinton County and girlfriend are accused of stealing nearly $52,000 from the organization.

State Police said Gary J. Cummings Sr, 38, and Pennie L. Bodley, 28, were using the organization's money as their personal bank account.

They allegedly spent $13,800 at Wal-Mart, withdrew $28,200 from various ATMs, wrote personal checks and made online purchases.

Police said the thefts occurred between January 2007 and May 2012 and were discovered when a ambulance team opened a bank statement and saw there was less than $2 in the account.
