Firehouse is accepting submissions for the Call for Papers for Firehouse World 18.

Firehouse is accepting submissions for the Call for Papers for Firehouse World 18.

Firehouse Editor-in-Chief Tim Sendelbach encourages those who are interested in presenting to submit topics that are timely and new to the fire service. 

"Firehouse World attendees join us to learn about new trends and best practices," Sendelbach said. "I encourage you to submit abstracts that will make the fire service better educated and informed, safer and prepared for the next emergency they might face."

Sendelbach encourages submissions on the following topics: 

  • Apparatus (Emergency driving, operations, specification & maintenance)
  • Firefighter Safety, Health and Survival (Includes fitness, behavioral health and nutrition)
  • Fire Service Leadership (Basic and advanced leadership covering emergency and non-emergency topics)
  • Fire Service Technology & Communications (Includes unmanned systems, computer software, etc.) 
  • Fire Service Training & Operations
  • Prevention & Investigation (Includes case studies, community risk assessment, fire protection, etc.)
  • Professional Development (Includes company/chief officer development, decision-making, etc.)
  • Technical Rescue Operations (Vehicle extrication, trench, high angle, etc.)
