MI Firefighter Rescues Family of Five from Fire

The Orangeville firefighter drove to the scene when his pager went off and got the family out of the home.

A passerby and firefighter care credited with saving a family from an early morning house fire in Orangeville Twp.

The Orangeville Twp. firefighters responded one mile to the scene when his pager sounded around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.

When he arrived, a passerby was already pounding on the front door to notify residents of the fire engulfing the attached garage, according to MLive.com

The firefighter ran through the burning garage and into the home and was able to the family of five, including three children under age 12. They family escaped the home before flames destroyed it.

The firefighter did not want to be identified, an official said.
