The driver of a vehicle involved in a crash with a North Hood County Volunteer Fire Department brush fire truck suffered serious injuries. A firefighter was also airlifted from the scene.
Department of Public Safety officials told the Hood County News that a driver who was turning off FM 51 into the Laguna Vista neighborhood struck another vehicle and that vehicle was struck by the fire apparatus. Four vehicles were damaged in the crash.
A firefighter was flown to a Fort Worth hospital and officials said their injuries were not as serious as it was first thought. Two other firefighters were injured along with two drivers-one who is in serious condition.
Officials said the driver who caused the crash was uninjured.
The apparatus was returning from a call when the crash happened.
