Two firefighters were injured - one critically - after a tractor-trailer overturned in a secondary accident on Interstate 45 in Centerville Monday.
Firefighters responded to a two vehicle crash around 3:20 p.m. and found the sedan and a pickup truck on the shoulder of the interstate, according to Fox44News.com.
While crews were working the accident, an 18-wheeler struck the sedan, which was pushed into the rear of the pickup. The big rig overturned, crushing the Sedan and struck the two Centerville firefighters.
Colton Adams, 21, was taken by helicopter with critical injuries, according to KBTX.com.
"Colton is in stable condition with a long recovery but will need continuous prayers. Please continue praying for Colton, Clint, their families and for Centerville VFD," a post from the Marquez Volunteer Fire Department stated.
Clint Franklin, 46, was also taken to the hospital by helicopter. He was treated and released later in the day.
The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver.
Both the drivers of the pickup and tractor-trailer were taken to a local hospital minor injuries.
