Steak-umm Company announces the “Steak-umm Firehouse 2nd Chance Challenge” a campaign designed to raise money for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, and to give back to local firehouses and the dedicated firefighters who bravely serve our communities.
Six firefighters who entered the Steak-umm Firehouse Challenge 2014, but were not selected as finalists, now have a “2nd Chance” to raise funds for their local firehouse through the Steak-umm Firehouse 2nd Chance Challenge fundraising competition, taking place in Philadelphia and New York. Three firefighters in each of the cities will compete to raise the most funds in a 24-hour period. The contestants are tasked with using their creativity, community connections and cooking skills to develop a unique fundraising effort that includes 100 percent beef Steak-umm Sliced Steaks. All funds raised within the 24-hour timeframe will directly support the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
The Steak-umm Firehouse 2nd Chance Challenge will take place the following days:
• Philadelphia: May 29 – 30, 2015 from 6:00pm-6:00pm
• New York City: June 26 – 27, 2015 from 6:00pm-6:00pm
The 2014 Steak-umm Firehouse Challenge finalists, Craig Weinbaum from Fort Meyers, Fla.; Alex Callegari, from Miami, Fla.; and Andrew Dresher of Hummelstown, Pa. will be on hand to serve as mentors and coaches for the new contestants.
At the end of the 24-hour fundraising event, the firefighter who raises the most money will win a $5,000 Grand Prize donation from Steak-umm to be used toward updates within their firehouse. The 2nd place and 3rd place winners will receive $3,000 and $2,000, respectively.
