Wellington, KS, Fire/EMS Chief on Administrative Leave

Feb. 21, 2024
Several firefighters have resigned since Wellington Fire and EMS Chief Tim Robben took the helm recently.

Wellington Fire and EMS Chief Tim Robben has been placed on administrative leave by the city manager.

There have been several resignations since he took the helm at the department six weeks ago, according to KSNW

Paramedic Rebekah Harsh gave her public resignation from Wellington at the council meeting saying the chief's lack of fire certifications concerns her.

“Be knowledgeable in all aspects of the job. Due to the level of danger that this job entails, you must be able to fully trust the officers in command. I currently trust my assistant chief and captain of my shift with my life, I unfortunately can no longer put that trust in my fire chief,” she said.

Robben has the right to appeal the manager's decision.
