An Alabama firefighter died last week just hours after responding to two incidents with his department.
Mount Zion Fire Rescue Capt. James Donald “Donnie” Keith, 59, was at home on June 3 when he complained about feeling ill. He then went into cardiac arrest.
Despite efforts, Keith was pronounced dead at a local hospital on June 4.
One of his last alarms with company was in a recreational vehicle at the Clear Creek Recreation Area Campground,
His death brings to 41 the number of firefighters who have died on duty so far this year.
