A firefighter from a small village in northern Vermont has died following a training session.

The U.S. Fire Administration on Friday announced the line-of-duty death of Morrisville Fire Department Lt. Casey Stephen Kuhns, who was found dead at his home Wednesday morning after training the night before.

The 30-year-old had responded to a vehicle crash on Tuesday afternoon and later participated in department training that concluded at about 9:30 p.m.

At about 6 a.m. the following morning, Lt. Kuhns was found dead at home.

Morrisville is a village of about 2,000 people in Lamoille County.
