Colleagues are mourning the loss of the Sedgewick fire chief who died after being struck by a vehicle at a crash scene earlier this week.
Sedgewick Volunteer Fire Department firefighters were at a crash involving three vehicles on Route 67 Monday night when a vehicle struck and critically injured Fire Chief Wes Adams.
He was transported by helicopter to a Joneboro hospital, Assistant Chief Heath Ring told kait8.com.
Adams succumbed to his injuries Tuesday, the television station reported.
The Sedgewick VFD is located in Lawrence County, about 20 miles Northwest of Jonesboro.
"Chief Adam's of the Sedgwick Volunteer Fire Department has completed his Duty here on earth and has gone to Heaven to be with our Lord and all the Angels.Rest in peace and know that we have the watch in our hands for now," the Block Rock Volunteer Fire Department posted on Facebook.
